Behind the Scenes

Gerry Jean François, who goes by the stage name DJ Djerymix is a
Haitian Disc Jockey was born in Port au Prince, Haiti on May 6th, 1992.
Jean Francois lived in the suburbs of Tabarre, Haiti while growing up.
While living in Tabarre he attended schools such as College Roger
Anglade, Centre Etude Secondaires for elementary and high school.
After completing high school in 2011, the disc jockey ventured into several
fields including Computer Sciences, Group counseling, Psychology, Social
Work, and Vocal Engineering.
In 2020 DJ Djerymix joined the US Army where he became a petroleum
supply specialist.
Like most DJs, Gerry Jean Francois has a passion for good music. This
passion was pursued as he began on the disc jockey journey at the age of
16 years old alongside his uncle who was the family member that made
sure there was always music and good times at every Jean François family
party or gathering.
Gerry transitioned quickly from performing at family functions to landing his first gig at a local basketball championship. Shortly after his first gig, his cousin in the United States gifted him his first DJ set, which is when he
would launch his career officially.
While being a disc jockey does involve playing other people’s music,
Djerymix is also a rapper. the songs/ projects he has released are: ’Woule’
in 2011, ‘BMF Freestyle’ in 2012, and ‘I’m on my way in 2013 which
received moderate radio play in Haiti’s capital, Port au Prince. In 2021, he
released ‘Plata O Plomo’ feat Psychoraap.
Gerry Jean Francois aka DJ Djerymix currently resides in Boston,
Massachusetts.
